I worry that my idea will be stolen and, at the same time, wonder if anyone will ever care about it. It's flattering when someone looks at Stipple and suggests it needs a patent but it's overwhelming. How can you gauge public interest without giving away the process? The way I feel today (who knows how I'll feel on any other day) is that if someone wants to use this idea for their app, just contact me. I'm a horrible negotiator and if you think you can implement this better than myself, let's talk. I've put so much time and energy into this, I'd really just like to walk away with something to show for it. Perhaps these are nothing more than delusions of grandeur, but how cool would it be to have a tool like this in Illustrator or Photoshop? Or what if Procreate could do this? It would widen their market, because Stipple doesn't require "true" artistic (drawing) ability to generate truly artistic works. On the other hand, interest from social media has been sparse. Maybe I'm not showing the right people, or maybe I'm off the mark, and the world doesn't need a digital stippling app. My views rarely seem in sync with those of rest of the world, so perhaps my excitement is misguided. Somehow, delaunay triangulation spurred a generation of questionable "low poly" art. Is it possible Stipple could ever do something similar?
